About the SGS GS mark

The SGS GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit = tested safety) granted by SGS is a well-known and respected voluntary impartial certification mark indicating the GS safety standard and quality of a product. The SGS GS mark verifies to the consumer that the product is tested and certified according to the German Act GPSG (Geräte- und Produktisicherheitgesetz = Equipment and Product Safety Act). The SGS GS mark can only be used on products that have a valid GS certificate granted by SGS. Information about safe electrical equipment may be obtained from SGS’s register of certified products.

The GS Mark, a widely recognised certification mark traditionally associated with the German marketplace, has now attained recognition Europe-wide and beyond. Use of the GS Mark demonstrates that the safety of your product has been independently verified. In Germany and throughout Europe the purchase decision usually depends on the presence of a GS Mark!
